Privacy & removals
If you submit a recommendation
We don't ask who you are and we don't record it. There is no account, no email address, no name, and no tracking cookie. Your submission is stored with the details of the business and nothing else.
To stop the form being flooded, we briefly hold a one-way scrambled version of your IP address in memory — never written to disk, never linked to your submission, and gone when the server restarts. It cannot be turned back into your address and cannot be used to work out what you submitted.
The practical consequence: once you press submit, we have no way to find your submission again on your behalf, because we have no way to know it was yours. That is the trade-off for not needing an account.
If you run a business listed here
Listings hold business information: name, address, contact details, and what a customer said about the work. Where a business is a sole trader, some of that may also count as your personal data.
We publish it on the basis of legitimate interests: van owners have a genuine need to find specialists who know these vehicles, the information is already public and commercial in nature, and it is published as a recommendation rather than a review. Every entry is checked by a person before it appears.
You can have your listing removed, corrected, or amended, for any reason. Email set-me-before-launch@example.com and say which listing. You don't have to give a reason, and we won't ask for one. We aim to act within a few days.
What we don't do
- No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.
- No cookies at all on the public pages.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
- Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap, which will see your IP address as part of serving them, as any website you visit would.
This site is run by an individual, not a company. If something here is wrong or unfair, the fastest route to fixing it is the email address above.
